For the Love of Goats

In July's Sebastopol Living magazine, we celebrate Deborah Blum of Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary and Education Center, whose definition of a "career pivot" apparently means trading restaurant empires and front-of-house hustle for 5:30 a.m. barn calls, with 155 rescued souls counting on her for breakfast. While most restaurateurs might miss the buzz of dinner service, Deborah found her true calling in a different kind of hospitality. She proves that sometimes, the most meaningful service happens far from any dining room—and straight into the hearts of animals who need you most.
